Bosch HSS-G Metric Jobber Drill Bits (DIN 338)

Introducing the series of HSS-G Drill Bits from Bosch. These high-performance drill bits are designed to give a very clean, accurate holes in alloyed and non-alloyed steel, cast steel, cast iron, sintered iron malleable cast iron, non-ferrous metals and hard plastic. The HSS-G drill bits enable up to 40% faster drilling rates and 50% lower feed pressure than standard HSS bits, with a chisel edge and split point drill tip manufactured to DIN338. The bit's exposed 135-degree self-centring split-point tip combines active cutting and perfect centring without wandering, delivering maximum precision. The split-point tip also eliminates any need to pre-punch or pilot drill for up to 10 mm.

Features and Benefits:

• Features self-centring split-point for excellent positional accuracy and hole quality
• 135° point angle design for maximum accuracy of application
• No pre-punch or pilot required
• Right-hand helical drill bits type N
• Precision ground for a faster drilling rate and lower feed pressure
• Spiral helix enables rapid swarf removal
• Suitable for drilling in alloyed and non-alloyed steel up to tensile strength of 900N/m2
• Suitable for both hand and machine use

Approvals and Certification:

• DIN338
• DIN1412C Quadruple Sharpening
• Bosch Standard Quality

Typical Applications:

These bits are ideal for fast drilling of a plug, anchor or clearance holes in a number of materials such as steel, plastic, wood, metal etc. This makes it an essential piece of kit to have if you work within the carpentry/construction/engineering industries to save time and money on being able to perform more efficiently when working with stubborn materials.

FAQs:

Can these drill bits be used with any SDS drill?
No, they are standard drills, will not fit into SDS chuck

What does jobber mean?
The word jobber specifies the length of the drill bit. This generally means the length of the entire drill bit itself is significantly longer for diameter it has. As an example, a mechanic drill bit will have a much shorter flute and therefore have a much smaller overall length.

What are HSS and HSS-G?
An acronym for High-speed steel, HSS is generally the go-to type of steel needed for drill bits due to their excellent heat resistance at high speeds. The HSS-G drills bits are additionally ground at the tip and along with their flutes. HSS-G drill bits are ideal for high-performance, professional application and are ideal for drilling into an alloy and non-alloy steel, non-ferrous metals, grey cast iron and malleable iron, sintered iron.
