Water Bylaws Scheme - approved product for hot and cold water
ABS is generally resistant to most diluted inorganic acids, bases and salts, and to organic acids and most animal oils and fats. It is not resistant to organic solvents such as esters, ketones, chlorinated and aromatic hydrocarbons, or to alcohol, petrol, acetic acid and vegetable oils.
ABS fittings in imperial sizes for solvent cement jointing are generally in accordance with BS5392 and the pipe with BS5391
The permissible working temperature range for ABS systems is -40°C to +60°C
